Chitti Royyala Iguru

Craving for some prawns curry…

Ingredients

  • -Chitti Royyalu (Baby Prawns): 300g (cleaned, deveined)
  • -Onions: 2 (finely chopped)
  • -Tomatoes: 1 (finely chopped)
  • -Allam-Vellulli Paste (Ginger-Garlic Paste): 1 tbsp
  • -Turmeric: ¼ tsp
  • -Red Chili Powder: 1.5 tsp
  • -Coriander Powder: 1 tbsp
  • -Garam Masala: ½ tsp
  • -Kothimeera (Coriander Leaves): 1 tbsp (chopped)

Instructions

  1. - Marinate chitti royyalu with pasupu, ½ tsp karam podi, uppu for 10 min and lemon if you have.
  2. - Heat oil in a pan, add jeelakarra, fry till they splutter.
  3. - Add onions , fry till golden (4-5 min).
  4. - Add allam-vellulli paste, fry 1 min.
  5. - Add tomatoes, cook till soft and oily (4 min).
  6. - Mix in karam podi, dhaniyala podi, uppu, cook 2 min.
  7. - Add marinated royyalu, stir-fry 3 min.
  8. - Pour water, cover, simmer 5-7 min till prawns are cooked.
  9. - add garam masala, stir for 1-2mins, add kothimeera, serve hot with rice or roti.
